Stark Raving Dads
Leader: Edward Yost
Who Can Attend: Men only
Meeting Time: Every Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Location:Fair Oaks Church Conference Room
Description: Join a group of men for a humorous look at the challenges of fatherhood and the importance of being a good Christian role model for your children. This group is designed for dads, or soon to be dads of all ages.
Special Notes: Child care will be available for $5 per child, per week. Group members should purchase a copy of the book "You Can Childproof Your Home, But They’ll Still Get In” by Dave Meurer available for $5.99 new on amazon.com, and even less for a used copy.

Men's Accountability Group
Leader: Ike Hendershot
Who Can Attend: Men of all ages
Meeting Time: Select Tuesdays from 7-8:30 p.m.
Location: Ike's Home in Chantilly, VA
Description: Join a group of men for a complete study 1st and 2nd Peter. The accountability lessons that the Apostle Peter experienced were painful, exciting and fruitful. This simple fisherman went on to become a great church leader and disciplined Apostle. We can continue to learn tremendous lessons from his mistakes, relating them to our own as he applied the knowledge of corrective action by divine revelation, holding ourselves accountable to the word of God and each other.
Special Notes: Children should be left at home. Bring a Bible and notepad with you.

Pastor's Red Eye
Leader: Pastor Stokes
Who Can Attend: Men of all ages
Meeting Time: Every other Friday at 6 a.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church, Conference Room
Description: Join a group of men for Bible study and conversation with Pastor Stokes prior to heading to work.
Special Notes: Children should be left at home. Bring a Bible and a pen.
Prayer Warriors

Description: Join a group of men for a time of prayer each week.

Beth Moore Women's Group

Who Can Attend: Women of all ages
Meeting Time: Every Friday, 52 weeks a year at 6 a.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church Conference Room
Description: Join Beth Moore on a Bible journey unlike any other. Through Scripture you will discover the transforming power of Christian freedom. God intends for you to know and believe Him, glorify Him, experience His peace, and enjoy His presence. This is Session II and we will be focusing on lessons 6-10 of the “Breaking Free” study that began in the Winter session.
Special Notes: Child care will be available for $5 per week, per child. Group members should purchase “Breaking Free, The Journey, The Stories” Membership Book for 14.95 found only at Lifeway Bookstores or lifeway.com. There is also a $10 fee for this group to cover the cost of the DVD sessions.

Who Can Attend: Mom’s with children at home
Meeting Time: Every Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Location: Acorn Cinema at Fair Oaks Church
Description: We will be going through The Busy Mom's Devotional together and spending time just socializing as moms.
Special Notes: Group members should purchase “The Busy Mom’s Devotional” from amazon.com ($10 new, from $3 used). Childcare will be available most weeks for $5 per child.

Early Morning Women's Group

Meeting Time: Every Thursday from 6 to 7 a.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church - Fair Oaks Cafe
Description: Developing the Heart of a Servant - Jesus said that greatness in His kingdom starts with servanthood, just as he personally demonstrated with humility by washing the feet of the apostles right before his death. Jesus' life is a witness of servanthood and humility as written in Philipians 2:3. This is a Charles Stanley study, and books will be provided. Please come learn together.

Coffee Moms
Leader: Liane Guarnieri
Who Can Attend: Women only
Meeting Time:Every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Liane’s home in Oakton, VA
Description: Spend time over coffee in conversation, prayer and Bible study with other women. Group will cover the book “Live Relationally - Lessons from the Women of Genesis” which highlights the lives of different women in Genesis and how they are important in God's eyes. In the study, we'll focus on these women and their relationships as mothers, sisters, wives, and friends and how that applies to us in modern times.
Special Notes: Children are welcome. Members will need to pick up "Live Relationally - Lessons from the Women of Genesis" by Lenya Heitzig & Penny Rose. This can be picked up at Family Christian Stores for $14.99 or found at Amazon.com for around $11.00.

Description: Want to work on your prayer life? This group will be reading A Praying Life: Connecting With God in a Distracting World by Paul E Miller. This book is described as an honest look at the difficulties of prayer, unanswered prayers, and successes in prayer. Come for support and encouragement as we work together to strengthen this area of our lives.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

Description: This group meets for Bible Study prior to attending the 9 a.m. Worship Service every other Sunday. Currently the group is studying through the book of Philippians.
Special Notes: Child care is available through the K.O.P.S Kidz Inc. program in designated classrooms. Bring a Bible and a pen.

Character Devlopment 101

Who Can Attend: Open to All
Meeting Time: Every Monday 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church - Floyd White Chapel
Description: A major goal of Christian living is to develop Christlike character in our lives. In Galatians 6, we see the characteristics that should flow out of us as followers of Christ, but the list can seem overwhelming and unattainable. Join us as we look at the fruit of the spirit, study each quality and work on developing each characteristic in our daily lives. We will use our Bibles, the dictionary and basic study tools like the internet and a concordance to examine a different quality each week.
Special Notes: Child care will be available for $5 per week per child. No special books need to be purchased for this study, just bring a Bible, a notebook and a pen.

The Kingdom Experience: a Community Practice on Intentional Living

Who Can Attend: Open to all
Meeting Time: Every Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church Conference Room (located above the Café)
Description: In the book of Matthew, Jesus climbs up on a mountain and says there is a new kingdom at hand, and that this kingdom will be contradictory to everything we have known before. The Kingdom Experiment is a challenge to live this kingdom described in the Beatitudes intentionally. It won't be easy. And it may get uncomfortable. But if you commit to live what a carpenter started 2000 years ago, you too will experience the kingdom He spoke of. The point of The Kingdom Experiment is community. And to share stories while we're at it. To grapple with what "good news" means in the context of this specific time and place.

Description: We will be discussing while going through NOOMA video series, which are designed to spur on conversation and provoke further thinking. This group is designed to be simple to join throughout the season, so we can enlarge our circle of friends & influence.

Vision TO Training

Meeting Time: Every other Tuesday, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Location: Fair Oaks Church - Floyd White Chapel
Description: A look into Canadian culture and church life. We will work through the book, Borderland Churches. This is an in-depth look at churches in Canada and an exploration of Canadian culture. It will also address concerns in reaching our neighbors to the north. It will also reveal some statistics of Christianity in Canada over the past 50 years. This group is a great fit for anyone traveling to Toronto in August to partner with the Dowdy’s as they plant Burlington Community Church.
