"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life.” ~John 3:16
God Has A Plan For Your Life...
God loves you and wants you to enjoy a meaningful life with purpose and direction. Jesus said, "I have come so that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
But Sin Separates People From It.
And that's why most people are not experiencing the abundant life Jesus promised. You see, God did not create us to be puppets and love him automatically. He gave us freedom of choice.
Has Chosen To Go His or Her Own Way.
Every one of us has chosen to disobey God. That's why the Bible says, "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
But "The Wages Of Sin Is Death."
That quote is direct from the Bible (Romans 6:23). "Sin" is missing the mark of perfection -- a falling short of God's plan for your life, which results in spiritual death (i.e., separation from God in Hell).
Your Efforts Will Not Get You To Heaven.
People try to close the gap that separates them from God by doing good works... living moral lives, getting baptized, giving to charities, or becoming very religious. But all of these efforts still "fall short of the glory of God."
Because Christ's Death Is The Only Plan There Is.
God loves us so much that He sacrificed his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross and pay for all our sins. Jesus rose from the grave and saved us from Hell. Whoever believes in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life. (John 3:16)
It's Not Enough To Just Know About God's Plan.
Christ's death, burial and resurrection is the bridge that gets us across the gulf that is separating us from God. But it's not enough that we just know about this bridge. We have to take action and cross that bridge.
You Gotta Take Action! Pray Now For Salvation.
That's why the Bible says "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) Remember... "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, not of works...." (Ephesians 2:7-8)
"But I Don't Know How To Pray For Salvation."
It's simple. There is no magic formula. Just realize that:
1. Your sin has separated you from God .
2. You must be willing to turn from your sin to God .
3. You must believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave .
4. You must pray and invite Jesus to take control of your life.
If you're still having trouble coming up with the words to say, check out the model prayer below.
Try This...
"Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Thank You for dying on the cross for me. I invite You into my life as Lord and Savior. Take control of my life and make me what You want me to be. Amen."
